Project SMARTSPACES
Project SMARTSPACES – Saving Energy in Europe’s Public Buildings Using ICT
The public buildings sector represents a huge, largely untapped potential for energy savings. The SMARTSPACES service will enable public authorities in Europe significantly to improve their management of energy in the buildings they occupy. The SMARTSPACES project started on 1 January 2012 and will last for three years. It has set up 11 pilot sites with 550 public buildings in 11 cities in 8 countries and has been operated by 26 partners with an overall budget of almost 7 million Euros. CIMNE - BEEGroup is the Technical Project Manager and Responsible of Lleida's pilot site. The project is co-funded by the European Commission within the CIP ICT Policy Support Programme.
