Cooling system of a nuclear power plant. Computational fluid dynamics analysis of the eddy viscosity.
The main objective of the present study was to elucidate the turbulent flow about a butterfly valve and filter system in a pipe portion of an nuclear plant cooling system.
Velocity and pressure distributions were obtained for different flow rates and valve configurations.
Turbulence development was assessed through the analysis of streamlines and eddy viscosity evolution along the circuit.
